Lyricist Sirivennela Seetharamasastry passes away

A huge loss to Tollywood! Chembolu Seetharama Sastry, known popularly as Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, who was was admitted in KIMS Hospital Secunderabad on 24th November for lung-related ailments, passed away today.  He was in intensive care unit -ICU at a private hospital in Hyderabad.

He has penned over 3000 songs till date and was felicitated for this achievement in Audio function of 2014 movie Mukunda. His lyrics for 2015 song Mental Madhilo from OK Bangaram has received praise, His lyrics for OK Bangaram has been considered very apt for a dubbed version. He had also received the Padma Shri for his contributions in the field of arts and aesthetics, along with  the eleven state Nandi Awards and four Filmfare Awards South for his contribution to the entertainment industry as a lyricist.

Sirivennela Seetharamasastry is known to have a long time association with banners  Sumanth Art Productions and Annapurna Studios and directors K Viswanath, RGV, Krishna Vamsi and Trivikram Srinivas.

He has  penned songs for movies such as Shrutilayalu, Gaayam,  Swati Kiranam, Kshana Kshanam, Varsham and Gamyam among others.
