Ranveer Singh starrer sport based 83, is gearing up for the grand release on 24th December. The movie recreates a nail-biting moment from the 1983 World Cup final at Lord’s, where India defeated West Indies to win their first-ever World Cup. Ranveer Singh will be seen as former captain Kapil Dev, Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth. The reports are coming that the team of 83 paid Rs 5 Cr to Kapil Dev.
The sources say that before making the film it is important to acquire the rights of the subject and the individual stories of the players the movie is based on. Keeping this in mind, the makers paid the original winning team of the 1983 World Cup approximately Rs 15 Cr, whereas Kapil Dev took around Rs 5 Cr.
