The former chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh Konijeti Rosaiah passed away in Hyderabad in the early hours of 4th December after a brief illness. He has three sons and a daughter. Rosaiah was one of the most senior Congress leaders and he had served in Cabinets of several Chief Ministers including K Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy and YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
He was 88 years old at the time of his death. He served as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2009 to 2010. He became AP’ CM after the death of YS Rajashekhara Reddy, and he tackled Telangana agitation, and launched a welfare program.Konijeti Rosaiah had served as MLA, MLC, Lok Sabha member. He served as a minister in the Cabinets of T Anjaiah, N Janardhana Reddy, Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy, and has been serving as a minister in the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy Cabinet since May 2004. Rosaiah held portfolios like home, education, health and transport.
